The Dunwoody-based Stage Door Players will announce their 2012-13 season lineup Friday at the comedy troupe’s opening-night performance of “Lend Me a Tenor.” Tickets for next season’s six productions will go on sale the same day.
“Lend Me a Tenor,” which is scheduled to run through June 10, is the next-to-last show of the current season. The classic Ken Ludwig farce features several actors returning to Stage Door, including Charlie Bradshaw, Karen Whitaker and Kelly Chapin Schmidt, the recipient of the 2011 Shayne Kohout Newcomer Award. The production marks the Stage Door debut of Atlanta theater regular Eliana Marianes.
“High Society,” running July 13 through August 5, will close out the current season. Based on the MGM movie of the same name and the play “The Philadelphia Story,” the Cole Porter musical includes such classic songs as “Let’s Misbehave” and “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
Both “Tenor” and “High Society” are being directed by Robert Egizio, Stage Door Players’ full-time director since 2005.
