The Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts has announced the finalists in the running to receive the Hudgens Prize. Ruth Dusseault, Hope Hilton, Gyun Hur, Scott Ingram and Jiha Moon will compete to win the $50,000 grant and a solo show at the center.
The artists, selected from 369 applicants, will participate in a group show. The three-member jury will choose the prize winner on the basis of the work in the exhibition. The winner will be announced on opening night, November 30.
The jurors are David Kiehl, curator of prints at the Whitney Museum of American Art; Sylvie Fortin, editor in chief of Art Papers magazine; and Eungie Joo, director and curator of exhibitions and public programs at the New Museum.
A slide exhibition of works by all the applicants will run during the show.
