When Atlanta proclaimed itself an international city during the run-up to the 1996 Olympics, it was typical ATL bluster. Now, of course, we are, and our culture is richer for it.

Exhibit A: dancer/choreographer Anupa Thakurta (pictured above), classically trained in her native India, who is teaching Bharatanatyam, one of the oldest and most popular traditional dance forms, at the Deeksha School of Performing Arts in Norcross.
