DEADLINE: November 7, 2015
ArtsATL, an award-winning nonprofit online arts magazine based in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking an executive editor.
Founded in 2009, we deliver coverage of and critical dialogue about the arts in Atlanta. We publish approximately 600 stories annually, encompassing reviews, news, commentary and information about music, theater, visual art and design, dance, movies, books and the cross-disciplinary events that characterize our city’s vibrant arts scene.
Our mission is to inform and educate the community and beyond about the arts in Atlanta, and in so doing, expand the audience and help build a sustainable, cohesive, and mature local arts community. Our work is grounded in the idea that public discussion of the arts is a key component of an arts community – linking artists, arts organizations, and their prospective patrons and audiences.
We’re looking for a dynamic, web-savvy executive editor to lead and manage our publication and team of freelance writers and editors into the future. This editor will work directly with the executive director on the organization’s five-year strategic plan and strategic editorial direction. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of how the modern online media world works, a determined work-ethic, and a strong editorial voice and vision to contribute to ArtsATL’s continued growth and success. Knowledge of and interest in contemporary art and culture is a must.
This executive editor must live in Atlanta, Ga.
