News: Managing director Stacie Lindner to leave the Contemporary

Stacie LindnerStacie Lindner, managing director of the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center since 2008, has resigned due to family health issues. Her last day is March 14.

Lindner, who oversaw all noncuratorial matters, put her heart into the institution, which she had just helped lead through a successful renovation. She expressed deep sadness about leaving. “I’m so proud of what we’ve done,” she said.

Her departure comes on the heels of artistic director Stuart Horodner’s announcement that he will leave in June to become director of  the University of Kentucky’s art museum. Although Lindner will be in California, she has offered to do all she can to help fill the gap until a successor is found.

“We have such good people and a great board,” she says, “so I’m confident it will be fine.”
