Loridans Foundation awards $444,500 to arts organizations

Trustees of the Charles Loridans Foundation, an Atlanta-based organization that funds mostly mid-sized arts groups, has announced $444,500 in new grants to area art museums and presenting institutions in the fields of dance, music and theater. The award recipients are:

Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, $107,500 (over two years)

Rialto Center for the Arts, $100,000 (over two years)

Museum of Design Atlanta, $50,000

Theatrical Outfit, $27,000

Actor’s Express, Georgia Shakespeare, Horizon Theatre, 7 Stages, Shakespeare Tavern, $25,000 each

Alliance Theatre, $10,000

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, $10,000

Atlanta Opera and Il Brasso Magnifico, $5,000 each

Atlanta Chamber Players and Jazz Orchestra Atlanta, $2,500 each

Previously awarded in 2010: Georgia Shakespeare,$15,000; Atlanta Public Schools for Creative Experiences, $27,130; Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, $50,000; Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, $50,000; Emory Arts Coverage Collaboration Conference, $5,000.
