The arts collaborative John Q chose the metaphoric backdrop of the Atlanta Cyclorama, which depicts General Sherman’s taking of Atlanta, for a film/text/ performance exploring queer migration into urban areas.
The group — Wesley Chenault, Andy Ditzler and Joey Orr — conduct their exploration through the lens (literally) of Crawford Barton, a Georgia native who photo-documented San Francisco’s Castro district during the 70s.
“The Campaign for Atlanta” includes Barton’s Super-8 movies of 1970s San Francisco, Atlanta and his home town, Resaca. 7 p.m. May 17 and 18, preceded by a 6:30 p.m. reception. No late entry. Admission is $8.
